The parasol actuator for a design involving a stand tube for a telescopic tube fitted at the top with ribs, which pivot round horizontal axes and are hinged at their ends to support rods, in turn, hinged to the stand tube. A weight (7) at the bottom end of the telescoping tube (5) is rated to open the parasol automatically. The parasol is closed by a rope etc. (9) which engages the centre part of the tube telescopic and is passed round a pulley (10) at the top end of the stand tube (1).
