Process for treating with solvents oleaginous crucifer seeds or protein substances deriving from these seeds for the purpose of separating the oily components therefrom and of obtaining a protein meal with a reduced content of glucosinolates. The starting material is treated with two immiscible solvents, the first being a lower alkanol containing ammonia in solution and the second an optionally halogenated lower alkane, the protein meal with a reduced content of glucosinolates is collected in the form of a solid substance insoluble in both solvents and the oily components are collected from the solution in the second solvent.
