The method consists, in an initialization phase, in finding at least one volume element, or voxel, belonging to the network, then in systematically testing all the voxels in a vicinity predefined in space to a voxel adopted as belonging to the network in order to search, one by one, all the related voxels constituting the network; the test for a voxel belonging to the vicinity of a validated voxel consists in analyzing the projections of this voxel in a limited number of projection images, suitably segmented and taken along very different angles, and in confirming the assumption that this tested voxel belongs to the network when the projection images of this voxel have consistent properties characterizing the fact of belonging to the network. The method applies, especially, in digital angiography systems, particularly for cerebral or pulmonary angiography. IMAGE
