PURPOSE:To obtain a Bi oxide filling superconductive wire rod having excellent critical current density with a good yield by molding Bi oxide powder in a bulk having a prearragned crystal and filling an Ag pipe with this bulk. CONSTITUTION:Powder of a Bi-Pb-Sr-Ca-Cu-O oxide (a Bi oxide) is compressed and molded to manufacture a compressed mold. When this once compression molded compressed mold is baked, a crystal of the Bi oxide largely grows in the C-face direction and an obtained baked body expands by about 10 to 15% in a volume % as compared with aforesaid compressed mold, and accompanying therewith the density of the baked body becomes smaller than that of aforesaid compressed mold. When the baked body, whose crystal is largely grown to expand its volume, is again compressed and molded, a recompressed mold, in which crystal grains larger than the first compression mold are fully orientated in high density, can be obtained. This recompressed mold is filled in an Ag pipe while being given a wire drawing process followed by sintering a Bi oxide filling superconductive wire rod having excellent high-critical current density can be obtained.
