BREAKING RATE CONTROL DEVICE FOR PUFFER TYPE GAS BREAKER

PURPOSE:To control a breaking rate to improve breaking performance by providing a piston, having a nonreturn valve for making a block condition in a breaking stroke, and a piston cylinder having a hydraulic oil flowing groove forming a narrow part in the middle of the braking stroke. CONSTITUTION:A nonreturn valve 17 is formed by which a valve plate 16 blocks a flowing hole 15 by the oil pressure of a hydraulic oil 19 in the breaking stroke of a piston axis 13, and adversely the valve plate 16 opens the hole 15 to make a flowing passage in a charging stroke. On the other hand, a flowing groove 18 composed of recessed grooves 18A and 18B and a narrow part 18C is formed on the inner wall surface of a piston cylinder 14. Consequently when a piston 12 passes the narrow part 18C in a condition where the nonreturn valve 17 is closed in the breaking stroke, the rate of the axis 13 is transitionally lowered due to increase of fluid resistance. This causes temporary lowering of a breaking rate to spray an arc extinguishing gas at high rate to an extended arc to improve current breaking performance.
