NEW MATERIAL:Alkali pullulanase Y having alpha-amylase activity with the optimal action pH on pullulan falling between 8.5 and 10 and the optimal action pH on soluble starch between 7 and 9.5. USE:An additive ingredient for the detergent composition for automatic tableware washing machines and for the detergent compositions for clothing goods. PREPARATION:It is suggested that Bacillus sp. (FERM P-10886) collected from the soil at Tochigi city, Tochigi prefecture, Japan be put to aerobic shaking culture in a medium e.g. at 30-35 deg.C and a pH10 for 2 to 3 days.
