NOURISHING AGENT FOR CULTURING MUSHROOMS

PURPOSE:To obtain a nourishing agent for culturing mushrooms, capable of stably attaining increase in the yield of fruit body and shortening of culturing period by adding an acidic aqueous solution to a nourishing ingredient consisting of skin part of grain or the skin part of grain and embryo of grain. CONSTITUTION:A nourishing agent ingredient composed of skin part of grain such as wheat, rice or corn is prepared. An acid containing an inorganic acid or organic acid as a concentration of 0.001-20M (mol/l) is added to the nourishing agent ingredient at an amount of 0.5-5wt.% or further preferably 0.5-5M acidic aqueous solution is added thereto in an amount of 0.5-5wt.% to provide the aimed nourishing agent for culturing mushrooms. Furthermore, for example, 10-100 pts.wt. of the nourishing agent is blended with 100 pts.wt. sawdust (dried weight) in order to culture mushrooms using the nourishing agent. Water is added to the blend so that total water content may be 60-70wt.% and the solution is further sufficiently blended and sterilized. Then spawn of Pleurotus ostreatus is inoculated into the above-mentioned sterilized nourishing agent and mycelia culture is carried out at 10-30 deg.C and 60-90% humidity for 20-25 days and further culturing is continued to provide the reared fruit body.
