PURPOSE:To obtain uniform and fine subject powder with high productivity in the process for producing the subject powder consisting of lead zirconate, lead titanate, and compound perovskite by producing ZrO2 powder by the wet process, then mixing the powder with other compds. of constituting elements by the dry process, and calcining the dried product provisionally. CONSTITUTION:In a process for producing the subject powder consisting of lead zirconate, lead titanate, and compound perovskite, a soln. of Zr salt (e.g., zirconium oxychloride) contg. total amt. of the calculated value of Zr, and a soln. of Ti salt (e.g., TiCl4) and/or Pb salt (e.g., lead nitrate: max. 10mol.%) corresponding to =0.01mol.% of the calculated value allowed to react with a soln. of NH3 and/or an amine, and produced precipitate is washed and dried, then calcined provisionally at 800-1,400 deg.C to obtain thus fine powder consisting primarily of ZrO2. The powder is mixed uniformly with a Ti compd. (e.g., TiO2) and/or Pb compd. (e.g., PbO), and a compd. of element constituting a compound perovskite (e.g., Nb2O5) corresponding to the total amt. of residual portion of said calculated amt., and the mixture is calcined provisionally at 500-1,200 deg.C to obtain thus the title powder.
