PRODUCTION OF SILK CLOTH PRODUCT FROM PLATE COCOON

PURPOSE:To obtain silk cloth product having excellent heat insulating property with simple process by wrapping both faces of plate cocoon with thin cloth, stitching to closely divide the face of plate cocoon and removing sericin with boiling in solution of sericin-removing chemicals. CONSTITUTION:Section 3 is drawn on the surface of plane-like or curved surface-like plate cocoon 1 with pencil, etc., and both faces of the plate cocoon 1 are wrapped with thin cloth such as gauze 4, then machine stitch 5 is performed in said section 3 part by silk yarn, etc., to closely divide the plate cocoon face. Next, the plate cocoon 1 is boiled in a solution of sericin-removing chemicals such as calcium carbonate solution 6 and sericin is removed to afford the aimed silk cloth 7 having light weight and excellent touch and also able to be washed.
