PRODUCTION OF LI2B4O7 CRYSTAL

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain uniform Li2B4O7 crystals at a low temp. by mixing lithium alkoxide and boron alkoxide with water in a specified ratio and carrying out crystallization by heating. CONSTITUTION:Lithium alkoxide represented by a formula LiOR (where R is 1-5C alkyl) and boron alkoxide represented by a formula B(OR')3 (where R' is 1-20C alkyl) are mixed with water so as to satisfy mH2O/(mLi+3mB)=0.05 (where mH2O is the mol number of the water, mLi is the mol number of the lithium alkoxide and m is the mol number of the boron alkoxide). The water- alkoxide mixture is dried and crystallization is carried out by heating to obtain uniform Li2B4O7 crystals.
