PURPOSE: To reduce the production of a colored deposit in a lead-sulfuric acid storage battery by containing a specific processed oil as a plasticizer in a separator. CONSTITUTION: In a lead-sulfuric acid storage battery having a polyolefin separator containing filler, the separator contains processed oil having a CA value of 6% or less, the sulfur content of 2000ppm or less, and a polar part of 1% or less as a plasticizer. As the processed oil used as the plasticizer, naphthenic oil or its relating materials are preferable. The amount of colored deposit, or dark and sticky deposit produced during the manufacture or use of the lead- acid battery can be reduced.
