USE:Useful as various optical filter materials due to light-shuttering effects ranging from visible ray to near infrared ray wave-length region, for example, optical recording medium, optical card, optical tape, organic photosensitive material, light absorbing or external light-shielding material for controlling mechanism of such as TV, protecting material for laser processing work, protective glass and light-emitting material for dye laser. PREPARATION:Thieno[3,2-b]thiophenebisphenols expressed by formula III is oxidized.
