Small animals such as poultry, game birds and rabbits are killed and processed in a plant comprising the following; conveyor, and alongside it, suspension stunning-killing, scalding, cleaning, gutting, washing units and a pre-cooler with air coolers. The suspension, stunning-killing, scalding cleaning, gutting and washing units are grouped in a movable container module. - The pre-cooler is located in another movable container module, equipped with a conveyor and a discharge unit, connected to air coolers located along a roller conveyor. The conveyors are equipped with gps of hooks to handle several animal carcasses at the same time. The hooks are fixed to permit movement in two directions, along the conveyor and at right angle to it.
