The stocking-fitting and removal aid comprises an annular component (10), round which one end (111) of the stocking (110) is fitted, together with a clamp securing it to the ring. The component can have a roughened surface and a circular cross-section. It can be in halves hinging apart and lockable together, while the clamp can consist of an outer ring of mating shape.
