Process for the manufacture of new products for application in control of the acidification of agricultural and forestry soils

The manufacture of nodules of controlled composition and structure having a diameter of between 2 and 5 mm is obtained in a pelletising disc from an ash originating from LD steelworks mixed with substances which bring phosphorus, potassium and magnesium to the mixture, and an agent which consolidates the nodules formed. In order to achieve good nodulation and consolidation both the ash and the various additives are ground to a size of less than 80 m. The nodules are subjected to a drying process to increase their mechanical strength. These nodules obtained are used as soil acidification correctors. Their composition and macrostructure may vary, thus permitting the selective dissolution of different components on the basis of soil deficiencies and acidity and rainfall in the area. IMAGE
