TIME BASE CORRECTOR WITH ACCURATE TIMING CORRECTOR CONTROL

摘要

ABSTRACTA digital time base corrector for correcting time baseerrors of the digital samples of a video signal for all thevarious speed modes of a reproducing apparatus. The time basecorrector is configured having a small capacity memory and alarge capacity memory wherein the small capacity memory isdivided into a first section and a second section. The firstsection of the small capacity memory retimes data samples forsubcarrier phase errors without losing or repeating data, whilethe second section of the small capacity memory retimes datafor horizontal frequency error without losing or repeating datain all reproducing modes except shuttle. Further, the secondsection of the small capacity memory in reverse and forwardshuttle retimes the data for horizontal frequency and phaseerrors while equalizing the data rate through the time basecorrector by selectively discarding or repeating horizontallines based on line type. The large capacity memory in allreproducing modes except shuttle retimes data for timing errorsof line and field phase while in shuttle the memory retimesfor field phase only.
