The polypeptidesare antagonists of the biochemical interaction of theHPV E7 protein and the RBG protein. The invention isuseful in the treatment of genital warts and cervicalcancer. One polypeptide of the present invention(Peptide A) has an amino acid sequence of:Thr-Asp-Leu-Tyr-Cys-Tyr-Glu-Gln-Leu-Asn-Asp-Ser-Ser.
