The device for holding the stabiliser bar 6 in a transverse position comprises a transverse centre section connected to the body by two coaxial bearings 7, at right angles to which the bar 6 incorporates a deformed section D engaging with a flexible ring E on this bearing. It is characterised in that the deformed section D engaging with the internal layer 13 of the ring E is obtained by localised upsetting of the bar over a length less than the width of the flexible ring E.
