New dextran derivs (I) are soluble prods of mol wt over 5000 randomly comprising units A, which are sugar residues of dextrans; units B, which are a substd by 0(CH2nR-C00-, and units C, which are a substd by 0(CH2)nC0-NH-R1-Ph. R = bond or C0NH(CH2)n, n = 1-10; n1 = 1-7; R1 = bond, CH2 or -CH(C00-)-CH20-.
