Bituminous compositions obtained by the incorporation of residues of thermoplastic polymers, especially motor vehicle discards, containing polyurethane foams and heat-cured resins, and process for their preparation. …??The process consists in mixing polymeric residues preground so as to obtain a mean particle size smaller than 10 mm with molten bitumen or asphalt. The mixture is stirred at a temperature of between 150 and 300 DEG C, the presence of the ground particles of polyurethane foam and of heat-cured resins contributing to increasing the rate of dissolution of the polymers. A catalyst and/or a reactant promoting a coupling reaction between the polymers and certain constituents of the bitumen or of the asphalt is/are preferably added, and this imparts improved properties to the final bituminous mixture. …??The bituminous compositions according to the invention can be advantageously employed for coating solid matter.
