摘要
The magnetic stator and rotar cores (1,2) of an electric motor comprise a cylindrical shell formed by winding a continuous wire or ribbon around a former. The cores are then consolidated by compression and bonded by any suitable means. The magnetic wire or strip is of any convenient cross section and final bonding may comprise adhesives or solder etc. Electronic or laser welding during winding assists in the formation of a mechanically robust core capable of accepting an electrical winding (7) after appropriate machining. USE/ADVANTAGE - Economic construction which in many cases does not require convential outer casing and is partic. suitable for DC machines. Has low hysteresis and eddy current loss. Wide range of sizes can be made from minimal stock holding. Non-standard customer preferences are readily accomodated. Variety of magnetic materials can be handled by same mfg. process.
