4-substd. benzene sulphonamides of formula (I) and their salts, esp. metal salts, are new: (where X = RR'N; R1 = (II), (III), (IV) -N(Me)CHO, NHCH2CH2Cl, NH.CO.NHOH, NHCOOEt, 6-mercaptopurinyl, 5-fluorouracilyl, prednisolyl, salicylhydrazidyl, 1-allyl-2-thiouracilyl, hydroxylamino, isomidyl, OH, OMe, OEt, n-propoxy, phenoxy, benzhydrol residue, SH, BH4, iodo etc. USE - The complexes are used for regulation and suppression of uncontrolled tissue growth, i.e. they are active against malignant tumours; skin or mucosal neoplasms, and fungal diseases. (I) are well tolerated with almost no side effects, and are soluble in water and physiological saline.
