The pneumatic braking force amplifier (2) connected with its pressure difference controller (6) to the master cylinder (18) is augmented by an integral hydraulic amplifier with a space (15) in which pressure is sensed by a reaction force transmission element (43). The effective cross-section of the space (15) is limited by an amplifying piston (41). An electromagnetically actuated valve (52) is inserted between the controller (6) and pneumatic amplifier (2). USE/ADVANTAGE - Esp. on motor vehicles of various types. Braking force amplifier, master cylinder and antilock system components can be assembled flexibly, and operate without slack or noise.
