The coil (3) contains a ferromagnetic core (4) with an air gap between two pole shoe type attachments (5,6), which project in the space outside the coil (3), and are formed in such a way, that in a workpiece (7) arranged near the air gap, a heating induction current is generated by the magnetic field emanating from the attachments (5,6) in the region of the air gap. The ferromagentic core is made of a HF ferrite. The core (4) is designed in a U shape and carries the coil winding (3) at the yoke part of the core. The coil winding pref. in two parts is carried on the limbs (5,6). The core (16) is formed in an approximately E-shape, and the coil winding (21) is arranged on the centre limb (17). USE/ADVANTAGE USE/ADVANTAGE - System for inductive heating. Developed so that it can also heat large pref. flat workpieces, e.g. sheet metals, which practically cannot be ringed by coil.
