The chopper uses a rotary, slotted blade disc, which is powered by a motor within a housing and fitted with releasable blades, underside ejector vanes, and coacting counterblade (27). The latter bridges the blade disc (14) and is releasably fitted to the housing (11). A counter holder, pref. formed by a centrally projecting support surface of the counterblade, is arranged in the centre of the disc, free from the counterblade, and thus covers the disc centre.
