An anti-tank mine (10) with a warhead (12) projectable from a drive unit (16) is coupled to a length of cable (20) extending across the path of an approaching enemy tank and forming a sensor (18) for actuating the drive unit. While the tank is over the cable, the latter is stretched taut. An igniter (24) for the explosive charge is subjected to a delay depending on the trapped length of sensor cable. An angular offset is provided to ensure the mine, descending from the level reached on projection, strikes the tank in the turret area. ADVANTAGE - No sensitive target aquisition sensor is needed.
