The fault tolerant computer system has two redundant computer units (U0,U1) each with a working memory (M0,M1) and processor connected via a channel (MC) via which the processors exchange state signals identifying the active and standby processor. The active processor writes data into both memories. Both computer units can detect faults. Each processor can only read its associated memory.
