A pipe joint between a plastic pipe network outside a building and a steel pipe within a building. The network plastic pipe is formed onto the end of the steel pipe, which has a raised circumferential profile, by a metallic collar. A HDPE protective sleeve covers the completed joint and at the end enclosing the plastic network pipe has a radially inward projecting collar with a seal which rests against the outer wall of the plastic pipe. At the other end of the protective sleeve is sealed against the steel tube by an epoxy resin cpd. USE/ADVANTAGE - The pipe connection is used in water and gas pipelines at entry to a building where the plastic network meets a steel pipe. Moisture is prevented from reaching the metallic joint forming collar and causing corrosion.
