Brief description of the purification of trifluoromethanesulphinate and sodium sulphonate

The present invention relates to a process for purification of trifluoromethanesulphinate and sodium sulphonate from its preparation medium, which consists in extracting the dimethylformamide with dichloromethane and then to eliminate the water by azeotropic distillation, and then to extract the trifluoromethanesulphinate with ethyl acetate and to evaporate this solution. The trifluoromethanesulphonate is obtained by oxidation of trifluoromethanesulphinate with the aid of hydrogen peroxide solution or by the sodium hypochlorite.
