PURPOSE:To enable an earthing pattern layer to absorb high-frequency components produced in signal wiring so as to lower the radiated noise level by providing an earthing pattern layer on an outer lead connecting substrate and extending the earthing pattern layer to the vicinity of a displaying region. CONSTITUTION:This display element is of an X-Y matrix type plasma display and the gap at the intersection of a transparent front electrode 8 with a rear electrode 9 constitutes a discharging space, namely, a display cell.
