PRODUCTION OF TRANSGLUTAMINASE OF STREPTOMYCES ORIGIN

PURPOSE:To obtain the title transglutaminase at a low cost with its purification facilitated, by incubating the microorganisms belonging to Streptomyces having transglutaminase productivity. CONSTITUTION:The microorganisms belonging to Streptomyces with transglutaminase productivity (pref. Streptomyces sp. No.83 or Streptomyces lavendulae No.466) are incubated to obtain the objective transglutaminase. For the culture mode, liquid or solid incubation may be used, however, deep aerating incubation under agitation will be industrially advantageous. The present transglutaminase, in the case of liquid incubation, is in a dissolved state in the culture solution, and collected from the culture filtrate obtained by removing solids from the culture solution after incubation. To purify the present transglutaminase from the culture filtrate, any method to be conventionally used for enzyme purification can be applied.
