PURPOSE:To provide a small size magnetic sensor with high reliability and an enhanced noise-proof property against external turbulence by making common either of a magnetic resistance effect element and a non-magnetic. conductor, connecting wirings to either of the terminals at the two extreme points, and omitting one of the terminals. CONSTITUTION:A non-magnetic conductor 3 is arranged in parallel with a magnetic resistance effect element 2. and the current in the non-magnetic conductor 3 is varied according to the magnetic field generated by a magnetic medium so as to obtain a bias mag. field. Wirings L1-L4 for these element, 2 and conductor 3 are connected with terminals T1-T4 furnished as oriented in the same direction on an insulated base board 1, and either of the element 2 and conductor 3 is put in ground line commonly. A variable bias magnetism sensor as embodiment of the invention is small-sized and has a high sensing accuracy, so that high accuracy sensing and high accuracy control are achieved.
