SAMPLING CONTAINER FOR MUD SAMPLE AT SEA BOTTOM

PURPOSE:To sample the specified amount of mud sample at the sea bottom under the state wherein the same pressure as the pressure at the sampling point is maintained. CONSTITUTION:A sample inlet port 2 is provided at the side surface of a pressure keeping container 1. A spindle 5 having a sample receiving part 6 is inserted into the pressure keeping container in a watertight pattern. The spindle 5 is pushed into a pressure keeping part 4 in the inner part of the pressure keeping container 1 in a full shape. The spindle 5 is locked to the pressure keeping container 1 with a locking device 15. The pressure of the pressure keeping part 4 is kept at the same pressure at the sampling point with a pressure accumulator 10 which is communicated to the pressure keeping part 4. A feed water pipe 17 and a sample discharging pipe 18 for moving the picked-up sample to an outer device are provided in the pressure keeping part 4.
