PURPOSE:To improve operability and running ability by enabling switching of set modes according to an operation condition of an accelerating pedal operation member and a running condition of a vehicle, and controlling a throttle valve based on a target throttle opening of the switched mode. CONSTITUTION:In a drive-by-wire type vehicle enabling control of an engine output independently on an accelerating pedal operation of an operator, a motor 7 is connected to a throttle valve 6, which motor 7 is controlled by a vehicle running condition linkage mode switching control part 156. The mode switching control part 156 which inputs an output of an accelerating pedal position sensor 15A is provided with a mode switching means 156A, a running condition detecting means 156B, and a throttle valve control means 156C. The mode switching means 156A has a normal mode and an economy mode, and calculates throttle openings corresponding to respective modes in relation to an operating amount of an accelerating pedal 15. The running condition detecting means 156B outputs a mode switching signal based on a detected running condition.
