PURPOSE: To use a container, in which solid granular materials are charged, in the field of bringing fluids into contact with solid materials by providing it a closed jacket which is permeable to gases and/or liquids and has pores small enough to maintain solid granular materials inside and providing it four triangular planes constituting a tetrahedral shape. CONSTITUTION: In a container E for solid granular material provided with a closed jacket which is permeable to gases and/or liquids and has pores small enough to maintain solid granular materials inside, four triangular planes constituting a tetrahedral shape are provided. Then, after it is charged with one kind of solid granular materials, it is used in the field of bringing liquids into contact with solid materials. The container has good material properties, has simultaneously the maximum surface area/volume ratio and can be produced with ease. Besides the container is particularly suitable for use of granular materials in catalytic action, adsorption, ion-exchange and distillation.
