DEVICE FOR RELEASING OPERATION OF PEDAL TYPE PARKING BRAKE

PURPOSE:To improve assemblability of a release knob by performing assembly of a releasing operation device through inserting the release knob into an aperture of an instrument panel from a room side, and by engaging a first and a second engaging members with the release wire so as to be located closely to each other in its axial direction. CONSTITUTION:This releasing operation device 65 has a release wire 46 whose one end is connected to a release lever 42 which serves as a releasing member. And, another end of the release wire 46 is connected to a rod 50. The rod 50 is slidably fitted into a holder 56, and a release knob 58 is mounted to an end portion, extended from the holder 56, of the rod 50. The release knob 58 is arranged in an aperture 62 provided in an instrument panel 60. The rod 50 has an engaging head 70 projected from a stopper 68 which is formed integrally with a rod body 66, and the release knob 58 has a mounting member 82, to which an engaging plate 100 is fixed, and engages the engaging head 70 with an engaging part which is formed on the engaging plate 100 and is constituted from a claw 108, which is projected in the approaching direction from a pair of projected engaging parts 106, and a tongue-shaped part 110 formed on an engaging plate 100.
