RELEASE OPERATION DEVICE OF PEDAL TYPE PARKING BRAKE

PURPOSE: To eliminate defective release of braking force in a pedal type parking brake. ;CONSTITUTION: When a release knob 24 is pulled out with parking braking force applied, a rod 23 moves in a pulling-out direction on the inner periphery surface of a holder 22, a lock release mechanism operates through a release cable 21, so that braking force is released. When the release knob 24 is released, the knob 23 moves in a pulling-in direction on the inner periphery surface of the holder 22, and the tension of the release cable 21 is released, so that the lock release mechanism returns to the original position. The openings of cups 26, 27 are directed toward the end direction of the holder 22, and the sliding resistance on the pulling-out side of the rod 23 is set larger than that on the pulling-out side, so the pulling-out operation of the release knob 24 is carried out by light force, and the pulling-in operation of the rod 23 is carried out at a low speed, and then the lock release mechanism returns slowly to the original position.
