PRODUCTION OF METALLIC SHAFT HAVING FINE GROOVE ON SURFACE OF SLENDER METALLIC ROD

PURPOSE:To produce the metallic shaft which has fine grooves on its peripheral surface, is useful as a shaft of a motor, etc., and has 4 to 20mm diameter. CONSTITUTION:A resist is applied on the surface of the slender metallic rod and light shielding ink is sprayed from an ink jet nozzle to the parts to be formed with the grooves to expose the metallic rod. The resist of the parts not coated with the light shielding ink is then cured and the uncured resist coated with the light shielding ink is removed to expose the metal. The parts of the metallic rod where the metal is exposed are etched by an etching liquid down to the necessary depth of the grooves. The remaining resist is removed.
