摘要

Monoclonal antibody (I) to a membrane protein of human cells is new. (I) binds to a TNF receptor and so neutralises the known effects of TNFalpha and/or TNFbeta, esp. cytotoxic and cytostatic effects, expression of HLA genes and immune stimulation of T-lymphocytes and natural killer cells. (I) is antibody H298, expressed from the hybridoma cell line ECACC 90021617. The cell line, and proteins which have the same binding specificity as the antibody, are also claimed. The antibody is produced by fusing myeloma cells with spleen- or B-cells of a mouse, which has been hyperimmunised with affinity-purified TNF receptor material from human cells.
