PURPOSE: To provide a reliable network exchange connection system by connecting two relative calls so that it is made possible to receive a telephone call from a seller directly and automatically start a telephone call to a transaction card issuer and it is made possible to directly inquire additional information of the seller by a telephone operator of the card issuer orally. CONSTITUTION: The network system which handles a transaction authentication request by telephone between the seller 10 and the issuer 20 of a transaction card shown for a transaction is described. The network system includes a perceptual switch 14 for receiving an incoming call from the seller. The switch includes a voice response unit(VRU) 16 which urges the seller to input the account number of the transaction card. The card issuer is determined by the switch according to data included in the account number received from the seller.
