PREPARATION OF NON-RESTRICTIVE TYPE COMPOSITE LAMINATED THICK STEEL SHEET WITH EXCELLENT VIBRATION-DAMPING PROPERTY

PURPOSE:To obtain enough strength for a structural body and excellent vibration- damping properties by a method wherein a foamed resin is formed into a sheet and after the sheet resin is laminated on one or both faces of a thick steel sheet at m.p. of the resin or lower, the whole is heated at m.p. of the resin or higher in a heating oven. CONSTITUTION:A foamed resin is formed into a sheet, which is laminated and joined on one or both faces of a thick steel sheet. For adhesion between the steel sheet and the foamed resin, it is pref. that to ensure uniform adhesiveness over the whole laminated composite steel sheet, it is placed in a heating oven after lamination and the whole is kept at m.p. of the resin or higher. The upper limit of the heating temp. is automatically limited because if the temp. is too high, the resin flows or air bubbles in the resin are crushed and there exists a possibility that the resin itself decomposes and it is pref. actually that it is heated at a temp. of m.p. of the resin of 100 deg.C or below. In addition, as the adhesive strength, enough strength can be obtd. only by fusion but it is possible that after carrying out from the heating oven, rolling or pressing under a light pressure is performed.
