PURPOSE:To provide a rot-proofing and insect-proofing composition for wood, which is injected into wood and gives a rot-proofing and insect-proofing effect, in which a chromium compound, an arsenic compound and boric acid are not contained in its components, which is safe to a human body on preparation and on usage and generates no environmental pollution, which continues the rot-proofing and insect-proofing effect for a prolonged term because rot-proof and insect-proof wood into which the rot-proofing and insect-proofing composition of the wood is injected has little toxicity and boric acid is hardly eluted, and which generates no trouble of atmospheric pollution when the rot-proof and insect-proof wood is treated as waste wood. CONSTITUTION:Copper borate and/or zinc borate is dissolved in water in the presence of a volatile basic compound, the rot-proofing and insect-proofing composition for wood is obtained, the rot-proofing and insect-proofing composition for wood is injected into wood, and rot-proofing and insect-proofing treatment of wood is executed to wood, thus acquiring rot-proof and insect-proof wood.
