DEVICE FOR STATISTICALLY EVALUATING CONSTITUENT AMINO ACIDS IN PROTEIN

PURPOSE:To efficiently set the candidate of an active site by displaying for each block an deviation determined from the ratio of respective constituents in a block and from the ratio of respective constituents in all length of the amino acid sequence of a protein or the sequence of a DNA or RNA coding the amino acid sequence and subsequently computing the change of the deviations between the blocks. CONSTITUTION:The amino acid sequence of a protein or the sequence of a DNA or RNA coding the amino acid sequence is divided into blocks each comprising usually 3-20 constituents, preferably 5-7 constituents, and a deviation of the constituents contained in each block from the constituents contained in the whole length of the protein is determined and displayed for each block. The changes of the deviations between the blocks are computed and the order of the constituents and the changes of the deviations are displayed. The sites-of amino acids, DNA or RNA corresponding to a block having a large change in the deviation are set as the candidate of an active point of the protein.
