ARTIFICIAL BED LOG FOR SHIITAKE (LENTINUS EDODES)

PURPOSE:To obtain the title artificial bed log capable of providing SHIITAKE (Lentinus edodes) in high yield, by forming the lower face part of mycelium obtained by spreading a hypha on a culture medium base into nearly planer shape and forming upper face part thereof into convex shape. CONSTITUTION:A mycelium 1 obtained by spreading a hypha on a culture medium base material is treated as an artificial bed log and bottom part thereof is formed into planer shape and upper face part thereof is formed into convex- shaped inclined face. Angle of the inclined face to the horizontal face is preferably =10 deg., especially preferably 15-45 deg. and the height t of body part adjacent to the upper face part is preferably set to =10cm, especially 7-9cm. Water absorption and drainage after water-dipping treatment or water sprinkling is properly carried out.
