SOLUTION: Each bed log 1 is obtained by housing a log 2 for Lentinus edodes Sing. inoculated with spawns of Lentinus edodes Sing. in a package 3 comprising a synthetic resin bag having through holes, formed near an opening and the bottom and provided with filters (3a) and (3b) for preventing the penetration of various germs and permeating air therethrough and then closing the opening 4. The resultant many bed logs 1 are stacked on sleepers arranged on the ground surface in many stages while ensuring a moderate air permeability through the filters (3a) and (3b). The upper part of the bed logs is covered with a corrugated board and the direct rays of the sun are screened to carry out the temporary planting for raising the bed logs 1. Thereby, the bed logs 1 having the rooted spawns and spread initial hyphae are used to cultivate the Lentinus edodes Sing. according to a conventional method.
