A device for indicating the close-zooming image for a television camera enables the image area obtained when the camera zooms close to be superimposed on an image area which is defined by a video signal so that the zooming range can be determined before a zooming operation. The output signal of a close-zooming detector, which is characteristic of the data of a close-zooming image, is stored in a memory of a microcomputer (3). Here a scanning area is set in accordance with the image area which is obtained when the camera zooms close, in dependence on an output signal of the memory and on vertical and horizontal synchronisation signals which are generated by the television camera. A gate circuit (5) receives a signal which represents the scanning area and an output signal from a control circuit in (lecuna) a close-zooming operation is required, in order to supply a close-zoom indication signal. The output signal of the gate circuit (5) is mixed with the video signal which is supplied to the television camera in order to generate an output signal which is applied to the electronic viewfinder of the camera (2).
