The present invention relates to a device for turning logs which are transported on a conveyor. Log-turning is especially necessary in sawmills, in which all logs reaching the saw have to be facing with the root or top ends in the same direction. According to the invention, the wrongly facing logs are turned by being transferred from the conveyor to a semicircular turning track, transported along the turning track and subsequently returned to their original place on the conveyor. The turning track is inclined in relation to the conveyor, so that logs to be turned are nudged from the conveyor and drop down onto the turning track and, once turning is completed, drop down from the turning track into their former place on the conveyor.
