VOLUMETRIC LEAK DETECTION SYSTEMFOR UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANKS AND THE LIKEAbstract of the DisclosureMethod and apparatus for detecting leaks inunderground tanks containing a liquid. The pressure andtemperature of the liquid are measured over apredetermining time interval, while simultaneouslymeasuring the liquid level in the tank and the temperatureof the liquid therein. From each measuring step the leakrate of the liquid from the tank is calculated and the twocalculated leak rates are compared with each other. Thetemperature at a series of different depths in the tank ismeasured. Other measurements are made and fed to asuitable computer which computes the leakage rate.
