process for inhibiting the binding of von willebrand factor in human platelets induced by thrombin, adp, or other stimuli.the administration of low molecular weight peptide or synthetic inhibitory molecule of the invention significantly inhibit binding to human platelets by adp or modified by thrombin, factor von willembrand, plasma protein required for the interaction between platelets and blood vessels.the method of the invention is useful for inhibiting the formation of haemostatic plugs and the beginning of thrombocyte thrombiques lesions. the blockage caused by hemostatic plugs of thrombocytes and the damage caused by the thrombiques lesions are the major factors in heart disease and strokes.a method is also described which induce the interaction between platelets and blood vessels by the administration of a synthetic reaction with platelets.
