Barium titanate BaTiO3 is prepared by thermal decomposition of barium titanyloxalate BaTiO(C2O4)2.4H2O, an aqueous solution of barium chloride BaCl2 being added dropwise with vigorous stirring to an aqueous solution mixture of oxalic acid H2C2O4 and titanium oxychloride TiOCl2 at a temperature in the range from 20 to 60 DEG C to form barium titanyloxalate and the precipitate being calcined at a temperature in the range from 900 to 1300 DEG C. …IMAGE…
